Whooooosh, that was the sound of your post going straight over my head <g>
I don't know anything about cards, hubs or switches.

Mind you, it only took about 40 mins and it was about 6 gig, so I'm not too
worried.

But you may remember, I had a problem a little while ago with burring audio
cd's, well, at the moment, I'm just making tons of coasters ! ! I have
saved the problem as a text file, could I e-mail it to you ?

All the best.

Doug.

What Cards you ruunning with and also what sort of switch or hub? If any
of it is only running at 10mbs, then it will be very slow, and you should
look at upgrading to a 10/100 mb system. Then your transfer speeds will be
much faster

Just took a look at the progress of the copying, and we're talking big
backups here, but where it says minutes remaining, it says 8953530 well,
perhaps I had best leave the pc on for the next few days { : - )

Yep, definitely done it, copying folders from a to b, I didn't have to
make
the folder on a to be shared, but I did have to make the destination
folder
    on b shared.

    Your help was much appreciated.
