I have 3 RAM Slots -- one is not being used -- have (2) 256
chips and a 128 chip just sitting on top of my desk -- looking
very forlorn because Windows 98 won't recognize it.

Could put Windows XP Home on this computer but personally I
can't stand it. Have it on my Laptop. I don't like the fact
it wants to tell me where to put stuff!!

Also to answer other question -- I still have over 5 Gigs free
of my 11 Gig hard drive. And if I use my Laptop as storage by
cabling, I can free up even more so I know that isn't the
problem for the hang and freezing on larger graphics. It has
to be the processor not being able to handle what I want to do.

Guess I will have to email HP and ask about the Mother Board to
see if it can be updated.

I've just spend time on the Asus site and can't find the
info on your
motherboard Asus DB98vx v1.01
Maybe someone else can or your can go to HP again and send
an email asking
for the technical specs for this specific DB98XV 1.01 in your
HP Model No.XXX
I am really curious about the discrepancy in the RAM max in
your model's
tech specs and what RAM you are actually running.

When you ran Belarc, How many RAM slots did it report?

I'm about out of ideas for you Judith
