You could do it all for free using the different colored twist ties from
bread wrappers.
Personally, I like James' idea the best and think I'll try that, not too

I am very interested in this thread!  Hate all that tangle down there.  What
do you use to label the cords?  I want to do both ends and the middle as
suggested.  I am thinking some kind of tape so do I need to invest in
several rolls of tape of different colors?  Or is there an easier and more
inexpensive way?
