BeOS was a very nice OS. Incredibly fast (I had 9 video windows running at
speed simultaneously) on a P133 (it was a few years ago), and very nice to
use. Too bad there were no apps for it (just those written by Be) and it
wasn't compatible with anything. Like Apple, Be seemed to believe that a
good product sells itself with little or no help. They were on something
like version 4.2 before I even heard of them, and I was working in the
industry at the time.

IIRC, Jean-Louis Gassee was a VP at Apple before starting Be. Explains why
Be never went anywhere and why Apple is where it is.

James.
