Tom Barry asks: > Is this RF front end something that could be sold separately and stuck on the antenna input of existing receivers? > The best place for the RF amplifier and first mixer is at the antenna, with an intermediate-frequency signal coming down to the receiver in one channel so thedown lead can be properly terminated to avoid reflections, a major cause of multipath. The IF signal can be located in a cable-only channel. See my published US patent application 2003-0007103 at the patent office site. Nobody manufactures such a unit at present or plans to, in part due to FCC tuner requirements.
