We've been over this many times, and I agree more with
Doug. Perhaps the broadcast doesn't have to be optimized
for the absolute ultimate consumer home theater, but it
should come close. Just as FM radio should come close to
satisfying the best home hifi system (as a medium, even
if a particular program doesn't match that quality).

CERTAINLY, a broadcast medium should aim higher than any
"average," as you stated. Especially with video, where
"average" today will be junk tomorrow.
