[mso] Re: Word 2000 Filesize limit?

The whole problem here seems to be that our poor friend can't OPEN the  
document. So all the suggestions on how to make it smaller by editing it, 
moving  
graphics outside etc, are great, but probably not much immediate help.
 
My suggestion would be to reboot, and shut down every unneeded service.  Then 
try opening the document. If that works, by all means try some of the  
suggestions regarding fixing it. But if it still doesn't open, I think you're 
in  
trouble. Maybe Star Office (free) can open it.
 
How in the world did you manage to get an almost-1Gig Word document anyway?  
It sounds like Word is not the best tool for your  purposes.
