Don't know about filesize limit, we work with hefty documents, but not to
the size you have. However, there are ways to reduce the size of existing
file to make it more manageable, and determine best path forward for
revamping document, which Anne has provided good tips. Here is a link to
reducing file size - especially if graphics involved, compressing them can
do wonders if you can't link them per her recommendation.

Hello everyone-

Is there anyway at all to get around or turn off the limit to a file size
Word 2000 can open? I have a genealogy file of roughly *800 MB*, and it
starts off as if it is going to open it. A few real minutes later (About
four minutes), it will display the top portion of the file briefly, but
immediately proceeds to give me an error.

I am using a computer with 3.8G of memory, and AMD Athlon XP processor
(1.66G), and 100 G hard drive, 72G free. I should have the room.

Ok, according my book, 32MB is the limitation for Word to open a file. Ug.
I
could have sworn I saw people opening bigger files. Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks.

Robert
