[mso] Re: Outlook: Read receipts and Tracking

I've always found this feature to be somewhat buggy and
unreliable....however, I've also found that IT people sometimes lie and say
they've done something when they haven't LOL (think about it...if someone
denies your receipt, do you think they would actually admit to it? Remember
there's also an option to be prompted to accept/decline the receipt on each
email....who knows what the IT guy actually does on any given day?)

Sorry, Graham...can't help you anymore on this one...perhaps someone else
knows...good luck.

Hi Linda - Hope you had a good holiday and thanks for the info

I imagined the Internet question would be as you say but the Intranet one is
different .....

I knew that Read receipt could be denied by the receiver, but it seems to be
more random than that - e.g. I have checked with our company IT technician

As a practice he does not Deny receipt of my messages and yet of those that
I have sent to him this year (2005) 53 have Tracking and 15 don't, and there
doesn't seem to be a pattern, i.e. Re: or FW: in the Subject line, fully
opened or unopened one-liners, and so on - all very strange!!
