Yeah...I actually do get people who write me out of the blue, add receipts and then attach their own docs and TELL me to fix it for them and email it back ASAP!<lol> No asking. No consideration for payment. They are under some delusion that I'm just sitting her waiting for them to do their work for them and they EXPECT me to do it and get right back to them! Not sure what planet they're from<g>...or whether someone said "ask Dian" and gave them my email...and they're just so spacey that they assume I work for them or something??? (HA...I DID once work for a guy that spacey<eg>...so I can visualize that one.) I LITERALLY had this happen again last week. And when I told the guy that I was too busy to fix his docs for free, but would provide him a cost quote...he STILL came back whining that he didn't see why I couldn't just fix it for him for free as he was sure that it wouldn't take me as long as it would take him and that he was only trying to save money for "his" business!<rofl> (I can hear Linda freaking out right now!<g>) When you have to occasionally deal with people that self-centered, you do have to resort to devious means...or just stop replying and set their names to spam.<sigh> Dian D. I'm NOT putting you down for it...sorry if it sounded that way. I just don't like them and rarely ever let one get by me. But as I said, mostly in my case...to avoid confusion. Otherwise I get newbies writing me AGAIN saying...I saw you read my email, why didn't you reply???<sigh> So to save myself the explanation, I just click no. Dian D. A few people have come back wondering why I was able to answer, yet they never got a receipt on my actions...and I tell them that I stop the receipt because I consider them an invasion of my privacy and annoying.<eg> Some I have told to turn them off or I'll stop replying. But most I just say No when a receipt is requested. The only time I really say yes is to close colleagues who live in other countries. I knew that Read receipt could be denied by the receiver, but it seems to be more random than that - e.g. I have checked with our company IT technician As a practice he does not Deny receipt of my messages and yet of those that I have sent to him this year (2005) 53 have Tracking and 15 don't, and there doesn't seem to be a pattern, i.e. Re: or FW: in the Subject line, fully opened or unopened one-liners, and so on - all very strange!!
