Putting a small permag motor in a shell made to resemble a turbine generator
is perzackly what I did for my wonderful Mich-Cal Shay. Made a little
turbine wheel similar to the one in the LS article and installed it on the
motor shaft. Never have tried it on steam, but it works with air pressure.
