I got the midi ports on the xs to be recognized in sonar, but now whenever I
try and record or playback something, I get no metronome and nothing from the
xs. As an example, when I try and change the patches to prepare the track for
recording, the patches on the xs show up fine in Sonar, but whenever I arrow up
and down, Sonar doesn't tell the xs to switch patches to match the patch
selection. I might arrow to a trumpet patch but I still get a grand piano when
I play the xs while I'm in the patch selection box. I downloaded sonar real
producer 6, and I'm creating midi-only tracks, no audio. If I recall, the
manual says something about turning off remote mode on the midi page under the
utility menu? I haven't done that yet. However, doesn't the remote on/off
button do the same thing?

The MIDI ports for the Motif appear in Options|MIDI Devices. You must place
checkmarks next to all of the Yamaha ports in order for them to show up as
input and output choices on individual tracks.

If the ports don't show up in MIDI Devices, then you didn't install the Motif
USB drivers, or you didn't install the drivers for the MIDI interface where the
Motif is attached.

Hi. I downloaded a trial of sonar 6 producer or something like that, haven't
used sonar in a long while. For some reason, the xs is not showing up as a midi
controler for inputs and outputs. What should I do?
