glad you like the chocolate lolfor me.... I use a high end 2.8ghz iMac and a macbook pro 2.4ghz 4gb ram. both models have 4GB ram installed and dedicated for professional studio work. from recording and editing work etc to programming. can't be without either of them. big mac colllector as well as I love older hardware. been a mac user most of my life back to the days of outspoken for mac OS 7 etc. so lol macs are my life lol
if you're looking for a real attractive but powerful system go for an iMac. not only high spec and affordable, they sound amazing with those funky speakers. built in mic, eyesight camera for multimedia chat. everything's there. and the sexiest keyboard on the market. slim as anything and a machine I use everyday.
the mac pro is really designed for heavy usage and full expansion but something at the moment I wouldn't be looking into. that is until digidesign help us with accessibility to pro tools. then I'll go pro tools HD3 core system lol
have fun friend. you're welcome to knock on my email or skype door anytime lol

Wow even hot chocolate, thanks so much! lol Wow, it even has whipped cream on it...mmmmmSeriously I can't wait to get my hands on a mac. I don't know when I'll have the money to buy one as I just bought a laptop and have to wait before I can buy more toys oops I mean necessary equipment for entertainment oops I mean serious university-related equipment. lolYeah, I'm one of those nut cases. big smile and lolI have far too many computers. My mother is not happy that I am considering buying another one. I don't think she's ever seen a mac though, I hear they look cool too. She's sighted, so maybe the Mac will look good on my desk and convince her to like computers. One thing I already love without even having used a mac is that it will talk right away and I won't need sighted help to use it. With my other computers, I needed sighted help to get through the setup screens. What macs do you people have? iMacs? minis? pros? laptops? I can't decide on an iMac or a mac mini so that is why I am asking. I already have two laptops so I don't think I'll get a laptop lol.Sara ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lewis Brock" <lewisjbrock@xxxxxxx> To: <macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, April 22, 2008 10:24 AM Subject: [macvoiceover] Re: Hello new list members!hey sarah. welcome to this list.we are a cooking pot of years of experience and some even months or days with the mac environment. you'll come to learn so much from using the mac such as best practices with voiceover, apps available, any other info that is shared on list. we have several resident nut cases and techs etc. all of us are decent folk willing to helpif you want any help then we're here to help. if you fancy contacting me directly lol my details are as follows e-mail: lewisjbrock@xxxxxxx skype: that is lol if youve got skype? lol lewisjbrockavailable most of the time lol and can advise on different areas, technical queries and more. also a service tech for the UK north wales district lolhave fun, take care and if you fancy refreshments. there's chocolate, biscuits, tea, coffee and anything else that seems to be around lol. Ok, here goes the intro. My name is Sara and I live somewhere in Canada. I am 27 years old and I like to consider myself a computer geek but then I meet people who know a lot more than I do so I realize that I don't know that much. I joined this mailing list because I wanted to learn about macs. I saw a mac at the university bookstore and thought it was cool. It even gave me speech when I pressed command f5 which was the only command anything I knew. lol It talked, but nobody at the store knew how to use the screen- reader so I got frustrated and decided it didn't really work...but then I found this list and www.icanworkthisthing.com and realized that I had been pressing just about every key to get it to read except! the V O keys. lol My email address has "649" in it because when I found this list, I felt like I had won the lottery lol. I am going to a different store where I hope the sales people will be more knowledgeable. I am going to look at macs and try some more stuff now that I know some commands. I'll report tomorrow on how it goes. I think I'd better braille out some basic commands to try or I'll end up forgetting them all lol. You people rock, thanks for being so patient with me, a total newbie.SaraClick on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.comManage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below.//www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceover Users can subscribe to this list by sending email to macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxxwith 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Web interface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverMr. Lewis BrockTotally blind musician and composer of 21st century synth orchestral musicPhone: +44 07857 352828 E-Mail: lewisjbrock@xxxxxxx Skype: lewisjbrockClick on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.comManage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below.//www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceover Users can subscribe to this list by sending email to macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxxwith 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Web interface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverClick on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.comManage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below.//www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceover Users can subscribe to this list by sending email to macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxxwith 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Web interface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceover
