Hi there. Thanks for the welcome!
Ok, here goes the intro.
My name is Sara and I live somewhere in Canada. I am 27 years old and I like
to consider myself a computer geek but then I meet people who know a lot
more than I do so I realize that I don't know that much.
I joined this mailing list because I wanted to learn about macs. I saw a mac
at the university bookstore and thought it was cool. It even gave me speech
when I pressed command f5 which was the only command anything I knew. lol
It talked, but nobody at the store knew how to use the screen-reader so I
got frustrated and decided it didn't really work...but then I found this
list and www.icanworkthisthing.com and realized that I had been pressing
just about every key to get it to read except! the V O keys. lol
My email address has "649" in it because when I found this list, I felt like
I had won the lottery lol.
I am going to a different store where I hope the sales people will be more
knowledgeable. I am going to look at macs and try some more stuff now that I
know some commands.
I'll report tomorrow on how it goes. I think I'd better braille out some
basic commands to try or I'll end up forgetting them all lol.
You people rock, thanks for being so patient with me, a total newbie.
