Yes.  I can't see any way to force US drug companies to make the
vaccine so the US *must* sort out some other suppliers before next
season, and meanwhile, the FSA should act quickly to check out the
other sources available now.  (Testing the vaccines from
Aventis/Pasteur France would take no time at all given the will.)

Also someone should look into distribution of the current stocks of
vaccine within the US. The US has 55 per cent of what it ordered yet
Illinois was allotted far far less of that percentage for the people
in its nursing homes.

On a more encouraging note, the 'flu expected this year is very
similar to last year's, so the shortage of vaccine should cause fewer
problems than it might have otherwise
