From: "Mirembe Nantongo" <nantongo@xxxxxxxxxxx> > Those interested in news coverage from the Arab world... By the way, al Jazeera didn't cover the lynching of the four Americans. Not a peep. They talked about new libraries and other stuff. Very likely, they were avoiding a confrontation with the US. The rioting was provoked in the first place when the US shut down an Iraqi newspaper, so other newspapers in Iraq thought it might less stressful if they didn't discuss US unpleasantries too much. The American reporters at the US military base are apparently selected on the basis of their patriotic fevor. Only very pro-Bush newspapers have permission to send staffers there. yrs, andreas www.andreas.com ------------------------------------------------------------------ To change your Lit-Ideas settings (subscribe/unsub, vacation on/off, digest on/off), visit www.andreas.com/faq-lit-ideas.html
