> Obviously Andreas doesn't get the New York Times. I also saw the video > on TV last night. The videos were not shown on local TV. Most of the networks did not show any videos. CNN USA did not show the videos. Peter Jennings and the other major American news services refused to show the videos. The NYT Times website indeed shows a video. However, it is digitally altered. The bodies are barely recognizable as anything other than dark spots. You didn't see the video. You saw a version that had been edited and sanitized, pixelated and blurred. In other words: The NYT shows a censored video. A number of European news sites show clear images of the events. I read that the videos were shown on British, Spanish, and French TV. The NYT writes that the events are not in line with the official White House position that the Iraqi violence is being done by militia. In the videos (censored or otherwise), one sees a cheering celebrating lynch mob. NPR this morning reported that reaction of Iraqis to the killings was split; half thought the mutilations went too far. Both sides however agreed they hated Americans. June 30th, when the US turns power over to Iraq, is only 90 days away now. yrs, andreas www.andreas.com ------------------------------------------------------------------ To change your Lit-Ideas settings (subscribe/unsub, vacation on/off, digest on/off), visit www.andreas.com/faq-lit-ideas.html
