Because a whole lotta people get killed with guns every year JUST because they exist.
Studies show that if you have a gun in the house, it's more likely that a resident will be
shot instead of a burglar. Suicide, accidental shooting, shooting during an argument, etc.
The gun increases the level of violence.
Having a gun in a house does not make it safer; on the contrary, it makes the house more
dangerous.
