You have to decide for yourself which will suite your needs most, but IMHO, 
you cannot go wrong with either the 50/2 or the 35-70/4.  I have both.  I 
have to admit since I got the zoom, the 50 only sees action if I need the 
lens speed.  Same thing with my 35/2.
