There are some lenses that will cover MUCH more than the 43.27mm diagonal. 
The image circle of the 280mm f/4.8 Telyt, for example, will cover the 6x6
format and has even been adapted to 6x7 cameras.  I've also been told, but
have not been able to confirm, that the image circle of the 400mm f/5 Telyt
will also cover the 6x6 format.
