The only problem is the mirror size with a larger than full 24 x 36 mm format. Clearance with the rear element is an issue. Coverage of the circle of confusion is not the issue here. The lenses will cover anything up to 36 x 36 mm. But mirror clearance is the issue as I see it and the larger the mirror the slower the max. shutter speeds.

The diagonal of a 24x36mm frame is 43.27mm ... so any lens capable of covering a 35mm format, must have an image circle greater than 43.3 mm. Thus, current optics would easily cover a 27mm by x36mm sensor. This would destroy many claims made here that with 35mm format you use them to the full.Well, you do, but there is a wee bit more in them!very, very clever David... :-) Steve--- David Young, Logan Lake, CANADA Wildlife Photographs: http://www.telyt.com/ Personal Web-pages: http://www3.telus.net/~telyt Stock Photography at: http://tinyurl.com/2amll4 ------ Unsubscribe or change to/from Digest Mode at: http://www3.telus.net/~telyt/lrflex.htm Archives are at: //www.freelists.org/archives/leicareflex/------ Unsubscribe or change to/from Digest Mode at: http://www3.telus.net/~telyt/lrflex.htm Archives are at: //www.freelists.org/archives/leicareflex/ -- No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition.
