The worst thing about my own replumbing op was the pamphlet, handed to me on discharge. It had "typical" progress, by week. Unfortunately SWMBO took it literally and my inabillity to scale Everest after three weeks was thought to be evidence it hadn't worked out properly. I explained in vain that "typical" was based on averages ant that those averages included people of my age and thirty year old athletes who'd developed ticker problems. The consultant was much more sensible, taking the view that you do what you're currently ready to tackle and go at your own pace.

I recall my cardiac nurses saying that exercise is good, but overdoing

did, and I now play an elderly gentleman's form of Badminton.

I am surprisingly a lot better today – I am quite amazed how soon the

I’ve been fit enough to do a little work here – the JHB Hours page is
up to date and I belatedly congratulate Frank F for passing the 1000hr
mark with JHB.

SWMBO has said that I can have a treat from the chip shop but only
when I am fit enough to walk over there. I’m still trying to work out
if that is pure cruelty or just an inducement to get better more quickly..
