After you turned on narrator, did you alt tab to the windows log on window? 
You should be able to find your name.  I don't have a password, but I was 
able to press space bar on Debbie and then start jaws.

I just tried logging off completely and Jaws stopped and wouldn't come on no
matter what I did.  I tried Narrator and had no luck getting it to read the
login screen.  It read other things but not that.  Maybe I'm not doing
something right.  One thing is for sure, having heard Sam, one shouldn't
complain about Jaws.
