Hi Fiona

I don't want to point out the obvious, but, have you tried turning down
the volume of the speech? I just wonder if jaws is being captured by the
microphone. Starting with Dragon 11.0, and quite prevalent in 11.5, when
the microphone is asleep it does tend to capture unwanted sound more
than the 10 or 9 series. I don't know why that is. Presumably if you
physically turn off the microphone with shift F11 things are OK?

Hello,

Would appreciate the list's help. Still have problems with microphone
after upgrade. Original email below. I've done the microphone check and
replaced the voice profile from an earlier back-up. Please let me know
your suggestions.

Thanks,

Fiona

Subject: Help: Problems with microphone after upgrade

Hello,

I upgraded to Jaws 12.0.1170, Dragon 11.5 and J-Say 9.1 this afternoon
(running on Windows 7).

My microphone is suddenly behaving very strangely. It's the one which
comes with Dragon and has been fine until now. Now my microphone will
turn itself on from sleep mode by itself. Also when microphone is
asleep, and JAWS is reading a document, it will suddenly turn itself on.
Then it tries to interpret background sounds or JAWS speech.

As an aside, now occasionally my laptop will suddenly try bring up the
Print Dialog window - when the microphone is asleep, and JAWS is
reading.

Suggests for fixes please!

Thanks in advance,

Fiona
