I think we had this poll before Suraj and it was a pretty close one at the

Ragoo's response was just what I wanted to respond, though I never knew
about that kerala thingy. It is one's personal wish whether they want to
use non-free softwares or not, but we, as a public's well-wisher group,
shouldn't lead them to such a pit.
I've setup a vote on the same topic. People can cast their votes on
http://chennailug.org/ to express their views. This poll has nothing to
do with the name change. This is just to measure how many people want to
feature non-free/proprietary softwares on chennailug.org. The "Name
change" poll would be brought back after the end of this vote ;-)
