"SK" == Suraj Kumar <suraj@xxxxxxxxxxx> writes:

[ilugc <-> iglugc ]

    SK>     * stop encouraging use/display/demo of non-free softwares
    SK> at our group's meets/events.  * Discourage queries on
    SK> proprietary software on our mailing list.

    SK>   What do you guys say?

No.  I thought we had decided long ago that ILUGC is far more
appropriate for our group than IGLUGC.  If we call it IGLUGC it would
be sacrilege to speak/write about anything non-GNU on the list or
meetings!?

Stop the use/display of non-free software in the GNU sense of things
might mean no talk of anything under anything apart from the (L)GPL
license?  If that is the case it is unacceptable.

Is it wrong to tell people how to use/install cygwin?

I see no point in changing the name.

Hi,

Suraj Kumar <suraj@xxxxxxxxxxx> chittered thus:

[snip, ILUGC <-> IGLUGC]

Suraj>   What do you guys say?

        I do not know if my "vote" counts, since I'm not physically in
Madras, nor am I likely to be, in the foreseeable future. If you ask me, I
would be happier with ILUGC remaining ILUGC, and continuing with life as
it used to be, when I was active. Like continue to demo/discuss Linux,
BSDs, Cygwin, etc. and not really restrict ourself to *just* GNU/Linux, or
other GPL'ed software.

        best,

                --ravi.
