The whole idea of a "copyright" itself is a way of pulling people into
this pit. and most of such copyrights / licenses from proprietary
companies are designed to prevent users from sharing software. Thanks to
the GPL, we have a wonderful "copyleft" system that enables you to share
software. Instead of the greedy licenses that proprietary software
companies put forth, GPL exclusively authorises each and every
individual who received a GPLed software, the right to modify and
redistribute the software.
