Just to throw in my opinion: I would not just remove the logo (as you already did), but also the application altogether. It could be an optional package you can install if you need or want it, I see little reason why it should
be part of the base installation.

Hmm, it could be quite useful for forcing software GL if Hardware GL isn't working.

As the Gallium stuff tends to be buggy at times on some hardware, making a friendly interface to force software rendering could be seen as a very positive thing. We also will have three software rendering engines to choose from if the OpenGL work goes well. (swrast, gallium softpipe, gallium llvm)
