I have no concrete data to back this up, but I would think there is a growing market for music therapy with the aging population.


As for me, I went to colege for jazz guitar. I teach guitar part-time privately. I've also taken courses from Berklee in audio mixing and mastering, and am trying to find work in that area. Mix samples at:

Music is a hard field no matter what aspect of it you try to earn a living doing. Unless you plan on teaching for a school or college or university, I think you should augment whatever music studies you take with some business courses. Basically, unless you're teaching somewhere, you'll probably end up being your own boss, i.e. self-employed.
