Here's the latest.......
Symptoms: Re-started server to start "fresh"
Pick to call up faceplate, opens slows (takes 3/4 secs to populate), closes
quick Pick same faceplate, opens quick, closes slow (takes 3/4 secs to close)
Pick same faceplate, opens quick, closes quick Pick same faceplate, opens slow,
closes quick Pick same faceplate, opens quick, closes slow If same faceplate is
called up over and over it becomes random but with the same symptoms
Installed QF1252536, NO CHANGE in behavior. Installed QF on 2 servers
yesterday.
Turned on OMMO on 1 server, NO CHANGE in behavior
Started a formal call yesterday with Foxboro.
Thanks for the ideas so far. Also, as mentioned earlier turning on Full
re-draw fixed the screen flash issues.

More importantly QF1252536 contains a fix for Servers with remoteFV sessions.
Wicked problem that took quite a while to identify and fix, much worse on
S2003 than S2008.
Seemed to me dependent on number of open sessions and time length opened.

Scott

Scott,
Install instructions say a re-boot is required. Does that mean server reboot
or FoxView only? If server, I won't be in a position to do today but will try
tomorrow.

If you can't install V10.4.4 easily (it requires removing FV QFs then
V10.x.x) then installing V10.4.4.
then I would highly recommend installing QF1252536 if you are using
V10.4.3
If you are pre-V10.4.3 than install V10.4.4

Scott

To All,
I have been following the chatter, as we have experienced the same slow FV
performance.
We have over 26 Mesh Servers, various HW, SW, 2003, and 2008 versions.
We currently have the same versions as shown below, on Mesh Servers that have
the worst FV performance.
10.4.3, QF 1288645
9.1.576
Before going to the version shown above, we did not have slow issues.
We have also noticed our CPU % usage goes to 100 % and stays there for about 15
seconds before falling.
During this time the HMI is not responsive.
Not saying this version has anything to do with CPU usage, just stating what we
are seeing.
After a server reboot, the FV performance is normal, the CPU % usage is normal.
Over time, the CPU % usage increases and FV performance creeps back to slow.
The HW platform for the version above is HP, rack mount servers.
I am currently reviewing all the nice comments about what to check for.
I will check with our Field Service to see about multicore and OMMO
implementation.
Thanks,
Bill Whitfield
