Question 2) 15 pts show all work Re: Is manual B0700AM correct? I have grown so use to doing this that I can do it in my sleep...not that I would sleep on the job or anything... I can therefore not vouch that the procedure is not missing an OK somewhere in B0700AM but the underlying principal and contents is right on. Re: if so why? The key to removing buttons is through the User Interface configuration of the ADMC (Section 3 of B0700AM). Editing the User Interface Scheme allows you to change stuff like number of button rows, number of button columns, etc. When you edit a user interface scheme, an EDIT window should popup that represents your Alarm Manager window. If you don't see it, From the User Interface Scheme dialog box, click Preview or click the title bar of EDIT window to bring it to the foreground. In this window, you can select the button to be configured and assign the desired command to it. This seems very much in line with the "deleting a button" example of chapter 4. Please remember that to link the User Interface Scheme to your alarm manager, you must first ensure: 1. The "alarm manager" has an "alarm manager property scheme" for which each "alarm manager type" uses your newly created User Interface Scheme. 2. Then you must Create and distribute the AM/DM Install Files from the .am File 3. Then you must restart the workstation. One could argue that a restart of the alarming subsystem is sufficient and I would not say the contrary. For step 2, I am used to doing it the old way which was porting the files manually. The distribute install files that has been added in subsequent revisions seems way more friendly and is a welcome addition. How many points do I get? ;) Howard C.
