I am using a presonus hp4 headphone preamp which I run out of the headphone jack on my mixer. You don't need to match brands. The HP4 costs about $100 or so and it is a really great piece. Phil. You mentioned running the headphone amp out of one of the aux buses on the mixer. Why would you do this as opposed to running out of the headphone jack? Just curious. -----Original Message----- From: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jim Jackson Sent: Friday, May 27, 2005 12:37 PM To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Recording with the monitors turned off. Phil, would the amp have to something from mackie, since my mixer is and if not, what's a very reasonably priced amp? Hi Jim!! You could purchase a headphone amp. You could then plug all of your headphones into that. You would then plug the headphone amp into one of the Aux's on your Mackie 1202 mixer. I have a very reasonably priced Berenger headphone amp here. I can plug in 4 headsets. You can get ones with more headset sockets than that. I have scene ones with 8 inputs.
