MessageIt would be about 4 years old. I would always recommend that you get a
mixer. Trying to monitor input such as keyboards and the like directly through
the audio interface, using the cue mix console ap, is not really accessible and
frankly will never replace a real mixer.

  Hi, all

Thanks for all your answers. However, I'm still confused.

The seller says this is not the mkII interface as it's four years old. What
does this mean, then. Would I need an additional mixer or not?

  Thanks for your continued clarification.

  Cheers

  Kylee

the MOTU 2408MKII is not the same product as the 828. The 828 was the
later generation of produc. Phil's box has nothing to do with firewire. I
don't think the 828 series used PCI cards. All you should need is an open
firewire port. Check MOTU.com for product details and specifications.

Ah, Okay. I guess it's then a question of whether this person has the
breakout box.

      Thanks again.

That's the name of the breakout box that ships with the MOTU 2408.

          Thanks Phil.

Please forgive my ignorance. What is the mkII please? The ad
doesn't mention mkII so I guess I need to know if that's important.

          Thanks for your help.

          Cheers

MOTU gear is excellent. I use a MOTU 2408 with the mkII interface
here. Go for it!

              Hi, all

I have a feeling one or two of you might be familiar with this
card. They're hard to come by in this part of the world, but I've seen a good
second-hand one and I'm wondering about its use. What is it like? Does it
have a break-out box or is it for a rack? What about accessibility of control
panel etc? The seller is selling on behalf of someone else and has not used
it. As I say, it's not something people in NZ are particularly familiar with
it unless they're really keen as there's no distributor here.

any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

              Cheers

              Kylee
