I agree with you on the spyware. When I ought my first computer, I did not know what spyware was. To tell you the truth I thought that spyware and antivirus were just a way of big companies to make money. Well, I learned the hard way. My desktop was full of pop-ups everytime I was online, and had so many viruses, it crashed. It cost me a lot of money to clean it. Now I understand how important and serious this societal issue is. I got a lot of information from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spyware. Spyware by definition is "computer software that is installed surreptitiously on a personal computer to intercept or take partial control over the user's interaction with the computer, without the user's informed consent. I didn't realize the extent to what this meant. Spyware is basically anything unwanted on your computer. Some of this unwanted stuff such as adware or advertising pop ups is not harmful, however some is very harmful to your computer. Without anti-spyware on your computer it could be susceptible to spyware attaching to files and multiplying. Some of the many negative outcomes of spyware are identity theft/fraud, poor computer function, unwanted ads including pornographic material, invasion of privacy etc. Lyndsey Gilreath-LaLonde lyndseygilreath@xxxxxxxxx No pessimist ever discovered the secret of the stars or sailed to unchartered land or opened a new doorway for the human spirit -Helen Keller --------------------------------- Pinpoint customers who are looking for what you sell. --------------------------------- Moody friends.
