Well, I've been using an Apex since last year and I'm 14 also. The Apex is much easier to use in my opinion. The scroll wheel makes it easier to access things if you don't want to use the keys. I think the Apex is lighter and smaller, from what I remember using the MPower.

It makes it easy to take notes and I think it has more memory then the MPower.

I thought the state pays for machinary and other things for the visually impared?

Subject: [BNU] Empower vs apex

I have a 14 year old student who has had an empower for about 5 years. She has seen/used the apex at a visit to the school for the blind and naturally wants the latest and greatest. (Don't we all!) but her family does not contribute anything to her technology needs, and the school is strapped for
money.
(Another obvious fact.) What are some opinions on the need to up grade to an Apex or continue to use the empower for this student- She is fully included in the regular ed curriculum. average intelligence, sense of entitlement, little appreciation for all that is provided for her to access
the curriculum.

I need to provide input to my supervisor.

Thank you in advance for your help.
Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate.
