Hi Linda, if your student is able to do all she needs to do on the MPower then there is no reason to go to the Apex. I have used both an MPower and Apex and as others say there are good reasons to buy an Apex however if you can't afford it and the MPower does all that the student needs to then you can stick with the MPower. The only reason I changed over was because my grandparents died and left me some money so I could afford the Apex. I'm not sure if humanware are still taking MPowers as a trade in for the Apex and I don't know how much it would knock off the price of the Apex. As they say "if it aren't broken then don't fix it". Hope this helps. From Shaz. She has seen/used the apex at a visit to the school for the blind and naturally wants the latest and greatest. (Don't we all!) but her family does not contribute anything to her technology needs, and the school is strapped for money. (Another obvious fact.) What are some opinions on the need to up grade to an Apex or continue to use the empower for this student- She is fully included in the regular ed curriculum. average intelligence, sense of entitlement, little appreciation for all that is provided for her to access the curriculum. I need to provide input to my supervisor. Thank you in advance for your help.
