Also, if you remove the batteries make sure bookcourier has gone to sleep 
first.  There's a change battery change command diamond key and the plus 
key pressed together.  these are the first 2 keys on the last row.  Also 
when the machine goes into a weird state, often a reset is all that is 
needed.   Its probably not a good idea to remove the batteries as a form of 
reset, unless the reset command doens't work.  The reset command is diamond 
plus 2 pressed together.  The first key in the last row and the second key 
in the first row.
