Hi, I agree, reading a book from cover to cover does make for the cleanest copy of the book. I'd like to add one thing to what E has said. Please make sure that all chapter headings are present before removing headers. If chapter headings are just numerals, and no words, they often won't scan. If chapter headings are missing, it is often easy to tell this and where to put them, before removing headers, because books rarely have running headers on the pages where chapter headings appear. If you remove headers before accounting for all chapter headings, you may well not know where to insert missing ones. Now for you validators here are a few ideas: Whatever you use to validate, please use a spell checker when you start. You can then check for missing pages, remove the title and author at the tops of pages and read through the book. A spell checker finds some things. Reading a book cover to cover is what really works when validating though. So please pick a book you find interesting so you are willing to read it. Again welcome. E.
