Scott,
I think you are the rule, rather than the exception,
at least as pertains to those on this list who scan.
(smile). That's why there are so many excellent books
on the download list that can be validated quickly.
The only difference is whether people read and correct
as they go, as Bud is doing but which, in my opinion,
not only slows up the scanning process, as he says,
but, which, I would think, might cause one to forget
where one is in the scanning process. When I was
scanning and submitting books, I did the validating
afterword, of the whole book, before submitting it.
With the Caldecott books that I do, I read the
descriptions over as I do each one until I do no more
editing, and then I do a spell check, and then I do
not re-read the whole book. I cannot stand reading it
any more (smile) and hope that the validator will
catch any errors (I sometimes leave the t off of
"the"--hopefully I've caught them all in my reading of
the sectons, but who knows) and will edit and improve
the probably over-wordiness of the descriptions.
