Hello Allison, I tend to like the format of Part B of question 1.I don't write any punctuation after the book title because I put parentheses around the series indicator, and I don't put a number sign before the book number, although I wouldn't object to it. But I do put a comma between the series name and the number.
I usually write series indicators following the way they're written in the particular book.
So I've written: Crown of Stars (Crown of Stars, Volume 7) following the conventions of that book. or Revenge of the Scorpion King (Mummy Chronicles, Book 1) because that's the way it was done in that series. Evan----- Original Message ----- From: "Mayrie ReNae" <mayrierenae@xxxxxxxxx>

Title of book parenthesis series name, book number with number sign close parenthesize For example Alligators (Nature's Children #1) That is how I do it and makes it easier to look for the books using Bookshares current system. Plus I know they are part of a series where even in my library system sometimes it can be a guess if they are. Shelley L. As I input data for all the pq books, I'm filling in a lot of series titles and book numbers. I usually do it a certain way, but I thought I would ask what everyone prefers. I have a couple of questions for you all, and you may write me on or off list with your answers. allisonh@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Keep in mind that I'm not looking to set up any sort of Bookshare requirement for writing series titles. This is just for my own personal knowledge as I work on the pq books. If someone already has a way they like to do it, he or she can definitely still do so. QUESTIONS: 1. Which of the below do you like best? a. Title (Series Name, then the word series, #1). b. Title (Series name Book #1). 2. Do you prefer some punctuation after the book title in order to separate it from the series info? 3. Do you like when the number sign (#) is inserted before the book number? I imagine that I'll likely get a lot of differing opinions, but I'll try to go with what's most popular. Remember, this is just for the books whose titles I happen to edit, not something that will apply to all titles. I look forward to your input.
