Make that 56 species… I saw a Barn Owl ghost across the neighbors yard and into 
their maple trees, just a few minutes ago.

We counted 55 species, here, this weekend.  That’s another best-ever for the 
relative time-frame, when compared to previous years.  Normally, in July, I’m 
complaining about the summer doldrums, but they haven’t settled in yet…maybe 
they won’t this year!  
I spotted our first-of-year Belted Kingfisher, yesterday.  That’s our first 
sighting since last September.  I counted two FOY Cliff Swallows, earlier in 
the week, but they didn’t bother to drop back in to help with the weekend 
list.  We’re at 105 species for 2020.
I’ve been searching for Summer Tanagers and have mostly missed them, this 
year.  Then, this afternoon, a lovely male flew right past me, as I stood in 
the front yard.  It seemed to say, “I’m right here, silly”.
We’ve discovered that our sudden glut of hummingbirds are mostly juveniles 
that, we’re fairly certain, were hatched somewhere in the pond thicket.  We 
got a photo of a juvenile male near the feeder, on Friday evening, which I’ve 
attached to the eBird list.  I’ve also linked to Saturday’s and Sunday’s 
lists, which also have assorted photos attached.
