Hello fellow Kentucky Birders and KOS Members,
The KOS Board will soon be making its decision about whether to hold our
KOS Fall Meeting in September as an in-person meeting at Kenlake SRP, as
planned. In reality, that decision might be made for us by the state. We'll
keep you posted.
We are planning for some online, or virtual, content, regardless of that
decision. Therefore, *this message is a call for Virtual Content*, or ideas
for topics to would like to see covered at that Fall Meeting. If you want
to do a presentation but are unsure how to do it, *we can help you!*
*Please reply to me (copy others as necessary for your topic), but do not
reply to all - let's not clog up everyone's email inbox. *
1. If you have a presentation, a paper, or a topic that you'd like to offer
for our members, please reach out to me as soon as possible. We are working
toward a deadline and want to make sure you have time to prepare
your presentation.
2. If you have some ideas about specific topics the membership would like
to experience, please send me your great ideas! Let me know if you have
someone in mind who might be interested in taking on the task, and I'll
reach out to that person or group.
3. Finally, let me know of any general areas of interest that you would
like to see. Perhaps you want to learn about state legislation that affects
birding, climate science, land purchases for conservation, federal bird
protection, attracting birds to your backyard, or even butterflies and
wildflowers. Reply to me and we'll get on it.
Together we will build a great program of content for ourselves, and other
interested parties. We got a little national attention for our Spring
Virtual Meeting; perhaps this time we can make a bigger splash, and earn
some new members at the same time.
