[birdky] Schochoh, Logan Co., weekend list

We had a particularly good count of 33 species this weekend, which I’ve
listed below.  Our highlights were the Sandhill Cranes and Loggerhead Shrike
that I mentioned yesterday, plus at least eight E. Bluebirds that spent most
of this morning near the house.  The males were especially lovely under the
bright, clear, sky.  We counted a Myrtle Warbler for the second consecutive
weekend.  The Shrike was still around today, making the little feeder birds
nervous.  This afternoon, we spotted a second Shrike, on a phone wire, about
a mile west of the house.  We did not count a Killdeer among the
thirty-three species at the house, but found 200+ in a bare-dirt field about
¾ mile from the house.  It was near dark this evening and we could not begin
to count them all!
