Ok, I've got some data from Chromapure's i1d3 calibration for the PRO packaging that I bought. What they have done is measure RGBW values on some display types with first the i1d3 meter I got and their own reference meter (an Orptronics Orb SP100 , i.e a JETI Sepcbos 1201 clone).

The data look like this:

Plasma

i1d3 W=(0.306, 0.329), R=(0.660, 0.332), G=(0.272, 0.652), B=(0.147, 0.061)
Ref  W=(0.309, 0.324), R=(0.661, 0.328), G=(0.272, 0.647), B=(0.148, 0.060)

and so on for eleven different display types in total. Can this data be used to create a .ccss file somehow? To be used for profiling the plasma screen for PC usage?

I am afraid not. They are embedded in the license file. But if the data is the same as .edr, then
it should be possible to convert. I hope...
Maybe not, if they've gone to some trouble to obscure it.

My ignorance shines through here. I understand how to convert .edr to .ccss and why, but what
should I do with a spectrometer (if I had any)?
Same as they are doing - measure the spectra of your display and use it
to calibrate your i1d3 for it. Or see if someone else can create
a .ccss for your type of display.

Ok, thanks. I'll check that with Chromapure to find out what is going on...
It's possible X-Rite isn't supplying them to its OEM's, or the OEM's
are choosing not to provide them to their customers.
