Personal opinion, it is not easy without experience. We tried to do the hook
timing one time when we got a duffle bag jammed in the hook assembly. Don't
even ask how that happened. My husband did it trying to help. I had tech come
out, he fixed, and the machine sewed like a dream. To me, it was well worth
the money.
