I love this feature and use it all the time.
The laser/target should have moved the hoop to the center point between the two
points you plotted with the laser/left arrow. Since you marked the first point
at the start point of the design, the hoop should have "centered" to the left
of the start point you intended. Did the hoop move at all? If it did, just
position to the start point and you should be aligned.
Things to look for: does the design look slightly (or a lot) tilted in the O/S
window? did you see an indicator on the screen after you did the laser/target
that it was reloading the design? did you actually see the hoop move a little?
I hear two quick beeps after the laser/left, but I can't remember if I hear a
beep after the laser/target. Sorry.
