Mandy, first of all Favourites in Firefox are called Bookmarks, as
someone already mentioned. However, I don't think he quite answered your
question as there was no mention on how to import Favourites from
Internet Explorer. However, here's how to store bookmarks:
1. Open Firefox and go to a website.
2. Press control d. The add bookmark dialogue box appears.
3. Either type a name of your choice, or leave it as its default, which
is the name of the page.
4. Press enter.
The site has now been stored to your bookmarks.
To access the site(s) you stored:
1. Open the bookmarks menu with alt b.
2. Like Internet Explorer, choose a site from the menu.
In terms of setting Firefox as your default browser, it is strongly
recommended that you do, as you can then use Firefox for the majority of
your web browsing and use IE if and only if you have to. However, you
don't even have to use IE; you can download an extension, Firefox's
equivalent to Add-Ons, called IETab, which basically allows you to view
sites that are not normally usable with Firefox, such as Windows Update
(yes, you've heard it right!). Anyway better stop before it becomes too
