[access-uk] Re: Firefox

Mike,

In many ways, the Firefox browser is superior to Internet Explorer. It has a greater level of security and much more in the way of capability. Sadly, it is much less well supported by screen readers than might be hoped.

Jaws does not support it at all, but there is an independent project in progress developing script support:

As I understand it, Window Eyes does now support the Mozilla browser, of which Firefox is a derivation. But I'm not sure how good the experience of using Firefox with WE may be.

As far as I'm aware, neither Hal nor Lookout have any support for non IE browsers.

Cheers,
Tink.

Hi,

Is anyone using Firefox? If so, does it have advantages over IE, and is it easy to navigate with a screenreader?

Thanks and regards,

Mike
