You did not say whether a laptop or a tower.

In either case, you still have an option to plug a monitor of your
choice into the new pc. You might give some thought to monitor type
(glossy or matte), size and resolution, with respect to fonts (screen
fonts, of course). If possible, test Xy on any candidate monitor in full
screen mode before buying (load DOS, editor.exe, and whatever else you
need on a USB stick and take it to the dealer).

I'd be interested to know whether the current generation of high-res.
glossy monitors give good results with box-standard fonts, or whether
tamedos is going to become a necessity for us XyWitterers.
