What no backups? Tsk Tsk Jen, All you need to do is put a new drive in install base OS and restore if you did.... Take a screwdriver and give the drive a good thock. That should tell it whose boss... It's a mirror of production and has been running fine for years. It blue screened and the Siebel admin rebooted the box. It comes back up with Disk I/O Error: Status 00001000. Then NTDetect runs detecting hardware. It comes back with the Disk Error and tells me, NTDETECT Failed. So, I have tried to boot from the NT4 CD, same thing happens. Tried to boot from a floppy disk, same thing happens, but I do get my A: prompt. But I can't get to my C: drive. I ran FDisk, and I can see the partitions are there. But I can't access them, so I can't run scandisk. The machine can see the drives, I can access them in the Adaptec SCSI Utility. I don't know *what's* going on with this box... so I'm hoping that someone has recovered from this. This is a box that I would like to keep the OS intact if possible. I can't even rebuild it yet, but can if that's necessary. The box is a POS black box edition... no vendor, piecemeal parts. Dual PIII 850s with 1G of RAM.
